Pied Piper II 2010 Tansy

Tracey King Interviewed for the Pied Piper II - Oct 2010

Name of Actress:    Tracey King

Role in Pied Piper II:    Tansy Tacks

Age:   None of your business

Years Acting:  About 20

Where you initially learnt your skills?    Never actually been taught, learnt a lot from being involved in the Moskeetoes with my daughters over the last 10 years.

What are the most memorable moments in your acting career to date?     Loved being a princess in 'Taste of the Orient' and Dot, a flight attendant Goose in 'Honk'.  It was also great fun, although a bit sweaty being the front of Gamel the Camel with my mom as the back in 'Ali Baba'.

What made you decide to be in the Pied Piper II?     Well I would be involved with anything that MOS did as I love being involved in the company but this show is something special as it is new and very very funny.

Give a short but complete description of your character:      She is the town dressmaker so a bit arty and eccentric, also likes a gossip and to give her opinion.

Who or what inspired you to work in your field?     I have done dancing since I was small and loved doing shows and performing, I was dragged along to the Forward Operatic Co by my friend Helen to dance in Annie and ended up in the Chorus. It just went from there really, they disbanded and we (myself, Helen and both our moms) joined MOS. Gradually got pulled in to sing, dance and act, then it was 1 line, then more. I would say the person most responsible for inspiring me and giving me the small initial parts is Vivienne Wilkes.

Who were your heroes when you were young?      I really wanted to be Kelly from Charlie's Angels and I was seriously in love with Donny Osmond.

What do you consider to be your greatest accomplishment?      My two beautiful, talented daughters who can sing and act better than me. To be in shows with them and to see them on stage performing makes me burst with pride.

When did you know that you wanted to be an actor?     Didn't really plan it, just kind of got involved.

Funniest joke you can think of on the spot?
Q:    What do you get when you cross a chicken with a cement mixer?

A:     A brick layer
